World Mental Health Day 2020

Today is World Mental Health Day. This year has been exceedingly difficult for so many people in so many ways. Maybe now more than ever our mental health is under a constant barrage of sorrows, heartaches, heartbreak, disappointments, and any number of dispiriting things that are bound to take it’s toll.

Here are 10 ways you can help improve you mental health. You don’t have to do all 10 at once. Pick one and get really good at it and then add another the next week or the next month. Either way these are 10 bullets you have to shoot. Fire away.

  1. Give thanks daily.🙏🏿
  2. Spend time outside in nature. Feel some sun.🕊🎣
  3. Play with your pet….or get you a pet… then play with your pet.🐕🦎
  4. Meditate. Breath. Visualize.🧘🏾‍♀️🧘🏽‍♂️
  5. Listen to music, preferably good.. real.. music.📻🎷
  6. Voluntarily get your heart rate up…aka, exercise.🏃‍♀️🏋🏾‍♂️🚴🏿‍♀️
  7. Connect with a friend. Make a friend. Connect. 🧏🏽‍♂️🙅🏿‍♂️
  8. Spend more time doing things that truly give you joy.🎨📚
  9. Go to bed today NOT tomorrow. Get enough sleep more consistently.😴😪
  10. Laugh. Hey, they say it’s the best medicine. Find something to laugh about and make your insides feel better.😂🤪
